Eligibility:
Any person having a
Postgraduate Degree from any
recognized university or
institute with not less than 55
(fifty five) percent of marks or equivalent grade in the concerned subject may
apply for admission into the PhD Programmes in the subject in which the candidate
has the Masters
Degree or in
an allied subject.
The minimum marks for
SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
candidates or a specially-able candidate (with
equal to or
more than 40%
disability) is 50%
or equivalent grade.
Selection of Candidate:
Common
Application Process (CAP) for admission into the PhD Programmes of
Madhabdev University will be
completed as follows:
Candidate shall be selected on the basis of
the performance in the Madhabdev University Research Eligibility Test (MDU-RET)
to be conducted by the University. MDU-RET have two components - written test and
personal interview. The written test
shall be followed by personal interview and verification of original documents.
Structure of MDU-RET:
The
MDU-RET is an examination (off line mode) comprising
of two parts
(a) a common
paper to test the
applicant’s knowledge about
reasoning & aptitude,
mental ability, basic computer awareness
and research methodology
& (b) a
subject paper, which specifically tests the applicant’s
depth of knowledge in the subject concerned. The MDURET structure for the year
2021 is given below:

Subject specific questions will be as per the Master’s syllabus for that
particulars subject as recommended by UGC. The
course material for
Sections B for
a particular subject
will be as
per the Master's syllabus for that particular subject.
Exemption from MDU-RET:
Recipient of CSIR/UGC-JRF, ICMR-JRF, ICAR-JRF,
DBT-JRF are exempted from appearing in the MDU-RET. Exemption
from appearing in
the MDU-RET does not
mean automatic admission into the
Ph.D. Programme. It is just a
benefit awarded to certain deserving applicants. An exempted applicant will
have to go through the process of Counseling before he/she
can be admitted
into the Ph.D. Programme.
