Mr. Bharat Gohain is a finance and accounts professional with extensive experience in financial administration, accounting, budgeting, auditing, and institutional financial management.
He holds two Master’s degrees in Commerce (M.Com.), with specializations in Finance and Human Resource Management, from Dibrugarh University. He also holds an MBA in Finance from the Centre for Management Studies (CMS), Dibrugarh University. He further enhanced his professional expertise by completing the One-Year Executive Programme in Applied Finance from IIM Calcutta and the Certificate in Accounting Technician (CAT) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), formerly known as ICWAI.
Mr. Gohain has also qualified the North-East State Level Eligibility Test (NE-SLET) for Assistant Professor.
He began his professional career as a Block Accountant and Assistant Block In-Charge under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Assam in 2011. He subsequently served as an Accounts Officer under the Directorate of Agriculture, Assam, and as a Finance & Accounts Officer under SSA, Assam.
With significant experience in government and institutional financial administration, he has developed expertise in budget preparation and management, accounting, financial reporting, auditing, expenditure management, financial planning, and regulatory compliance.
He is presently serving as the Finance Officer of Madhabdev University, Assam. In addition to his responsibilities as Finance Officer, he serves as the Nodal Officer for RUSA, Assam, and the Nodal Officer for the JRF Scholarship. In this capacity, he oversees and facilitates the University's financial and accounts-related activities in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and established financial procedures.
His diverse academic qualifications, professional training, and extensive experience in public-sector and higher-education financial administration contribute to the effective, transparent, and accountable financial management of the University.
